It's not that he didn't like Tony, he did, or that they weren't good friends, they were. It's just that he was never very good with this sort of thing.
"Well, he and I worked together at CTU. I was his boss to be exact. We didn't... always get along," Ryan admits. "But he's -- was -- a good guy. Loyal, a good leader. A lot of integrity. Dependable. We didn't really get to know each other till we arrived at Milliways."
